Arrival
How to get here by car
From Basel, Zürich and Bern take the highway N2, N1, N6 via Thun until Exit Grindelwald. From Lugano and Luzern take the Highway N2, via Stans, Brünig pass, Interlaken to the exit Grindelwald. Once you are in Grindelwald, follow the main road though out the village direction Oberer Gletscher. The hotel is located around 300 meters after the church on the right-hand side. The websites www.viamichelin.com and google maps helps you to plan your trip.
How to get here by train
From the Zürich Airport, you take the train direction Bern, where you have to change the train towards Interlaken Ost. In Interlaken Ost, you have to change the train again towards Grindelwald. (it takes you about 3h from Zürich to Grindelwald). Time tables you find on www.sbb.ch. Once in Grindelwald, you will find the bus terminal (www.grindelwaldbus.ch) across the road from the train station. With the digital guestcard, you benefit from free bus. In the village, you find following banks UBS; Berner Kantonalbank, Raiffeisen, or Ersparnisskasse Interlaken. At every bank, you find cash machines/ATMs. Opening hours of banks are Monday to Friday from 9am – 12/ and 2pm – 5pm.
There is as well an ATM by Hotel Sunstar.
Bar
The bar is open from 1pm. We close earliest at 10pm, and latest at midnight (0h00; twelve o’clock at night). There is a daily happy hour from 5:30pm till 6:30pm. On your orders of beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks you will get a second one for free. Sundays and Mondays the bar remain closed. During the high season, (August, July, December, February) closed on Sundays.

Car charging (e-car)
We do have a possibilty to charge your electronic car, ask our staff at the reception. CHF 0.35 per kilowatt-hour.

Check in
On your arrival day, your room or dormitory bed is at your disposal from 2pm on. You may check in between 1pm and 9pm. If you should arrive later than 9pm, we would appreciate, if you could inform us by mail (hotel@alpenblick.info) or by phone 0041 33 853 11 05.
Check out
We ask you to check out by 11am latest on your departure day. Unfortunately, we cannot offer late check outs. But you can leave your car on our parking until your final departure from Grindelwald. You may as well store your luggage after checking out. If you should check out early in the morning we kindly ask you to pay your hotel bill the day before your departure day. As the reception is open in Summer from 6h30 am and in Winter from 7am.
Children
Children under 7 years, without extra bed are for free. Child chairs are at your disposal in the restaurant. For the child menu see menu.
For Children older than 7 years, without extrabed, we are forced to charge the breakfast. Babybeds for CHF 15.- per night, extra beds CHF 30.- per night.

During summer:

Fire
Your security is our concern. In all the hotel rooms and corridors there are fire detectors. If you should locate fire or smoke, please see the reception. And there are red alarm boxes in the corridor. Break the window with covered elbow and push the button. On the inside of your room door, you find the evacuation plan as well as how to react in case of fire. The meeting point in case of an evacuation of the hotel is on the upper parking of the hotel. In case of fire please follow the instructions of the hotel staff.
Foreign currencies
You may pay your hotel bill in foreign currencies as Euro. Please note, that you have a better exchange rate at the banks. As a consequence we recommend to pay your bill in Swiss Franks. You find banks in the village, where you can exchange your currency.

In Grindelwald, there is no self-laundry, the next self-service laundry is in Wilderswil.
Directions: Take the train directions to Interlaken Ost, get of in Wilderswil and take bus directions to Interlaken West. Get off at the stop „Three Tells“ (Pub) and walk towards the restaurant Little Thai / Balmers Hostel. „Rosis Waschsalon“ is just next to those two.

Motorbike
If you have a motorbike you can park it for free in the open garage. Where it cannot be seen from the main road and it stays dry. Please ask our reception staff.
Mountains
From the Hotel Alpenblick you can see from the left to the right the following mountains.
Wetterhorn (3691meters), Mättenberg (3104meters), Gross Fiescherhorn with Fiescherwand (4048meters) and the Under Grindelwald glacier. At the end you see the world famous Eiger (3970meters). To be able to see Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, you need to go up on a mountain, like First, Kleine Scheidegg or Männlichen.

We close the bar earliest at 9pm, as a result the main entrance will be closed. Please take your room door key with you when you go out at night. With the night entrance code, which is given by check in you have access 24h to the hotel. You will find the night entrance underneath the terrace of the restaurant.

Parking
We have enough free parking at your disposal. If you should arrive with a group, please see the reception, we will assign you your parking. On your departure day, you can leave your car on our parking until your final departure of Grindelwald, for this we would appreciate if you could tell this at the reception.

You can pay your bill cash in Swiss francs, in Euro or with all major credit and debit cards. Maestrocard postcard is accepted as well.
Pets
Well educated dogs are accepted and fro free. Please note, that we do not accept pets in the dormitory!
Other pets than dogs are not allowed.
Pharmacy
You find a pharmacy in the village at the Eiger+ centre. The opening hours are similar as the normal shop opening hours. See shops.
Pick nick
Please note, that we do not accept the consumption of your own food and drinks at the bar or in the restaurant and the restauarnt terrace.
In summer, you can use the roof top or the assigned room in the basement. In winter, we you we offer, first floor, room 111 where you can eat your own food.
Pillows
If you need additional pillows, please ask our staff at the reception.
Pool table
At the bar, you find a pool table, which is accessible during the bar opening hours. CHF 2.- per game. Please note, that after 11pm, the pool table may not be accessible anymore, to avoid noise.
Post
You find a post at the train station. You can leave your letters and postcards at the reception as well, we will take care of it. If you should receive post in our hotel, we will give to you personally. If you should excpect an urgent message, please inform us where you are.
Printing
You need a print of a flight ticket, a train ticket or just a document. Send us an e-mail (hotel@alpenblick.info) attach the document you would like to have printed. Do not forget to mention you name and room number in the mail, and we will print the documents for you. Up to 4 pages, printing service is for free.

Reception
The reception is open from 7am in winter, from 6:30 in summer. It stays open until the closing of the bar. As we are a small hotel, the reception is not occupied permanently, therefore we ask you to be patient, thank you very much!

In the second floor, you find a public roof top, which is accessible to all hotel guests. If you use the roof top at evenings please be quiet, other guests will appreciate it!

All our hotel rooms are furnished with a safe. The instructions you will find next to the safe. For guests who sleep in the dormitory, we have safes in the room. You can get the key at the reception, deposit CHF 10.-, you will get the money back, when you bring the key back.
Sanitary product /drugs
When you packed your bags at home you forgot your toothbrush, toothpaste, you can buy it at the reception. All other items you find in the shops in the village.

In the village, you find different shops. You find a supermarket Coop at the building of Eiger+. Most of the shops are open from 8am – 18:30pm.

Ski room / Snowboard room/ boots room
In the basement, you will find a room, where you can store your skis, snowboards and boots. Please note, that snowboard and skis are not allowed in the rooms.
Smoking
Please note, that in Switzerland smoking in public buildings is not permitted. The hotel rooms and the restaurant are non-smoking areas. You find a smoking area at the bar, which is accessible during the opening hours of the bar. Smoking outside and on the terrace, is permitted.
